Terms of Service

1. Acceptance and changes

These Terms constitute an agreement between you and the RedMate developer ("we", "us"). We may revise material clauses; in that case we will notify you in-app or post on redmate.app. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the new Terms. If you disagree, stop using the app and uninstall it.

2. Service description

RedMate is a macOS desktop assistant for Xiaohongshu (XHS) creators. It is an independent third-party tool — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by Xiaohongshu.

The service includes, without limitation:

• Multi-account session isolation, switching, and persistent login.
• Local and cloud management of note drafts, image, and video assets.
• Browser-automation-assisted publishing, scheduling, and bulk operations.
• Account and note data collection, organization, and presentation.
• Driving the above through MCP (Model Context Protocol) so AI assistants can operate XHS on your behalf.

3. Account registration and use

You must register an account by email to use the cloud features. We use one-time email codes (OTP) for sign-in — there is no password.

You are responsible for safeguarding the email account that receives the codes. Any consequences arising from account compromise are borne by you. If you suspect compromise, contact us at the email below to revoke sessions or lock the account.

4. Binding third-party platform accounts (important)

To use RedMate's core features you must log into your XHS account inside the app. Login state is stored in an Electron isolated session partition; the related cookies stay on your machine and are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

You acknowledge and accept the following:

• Your relationship with Xiaohongshu is governed by Xiaohongshu's own user agreement. RedMate does not waive any of your obligations to Xiaohongshu.
• Xiaohongshu may modify, restrict, or prohibit third-party tools and automation at any time. Any consequences of platform-rule changes — feature unavailability, rate-limiting, warnings, suspension, or ban — are borne by you.
• Session lifetime is controlled by Xiaohongshu; you must re-authenticate when sessions expire.
• RedMate depends on Xiaohongshu's frontend DOM and undocumented endpoints. Platform-side changes can cause short- or long-term breakage; we are not liable for resulting damages.

5. User conduct

You agree not to use RedMate for any of the following:

• Publishing content that violates the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, including but not limited to pornographic, gambling, drug, violent, terrorist, state-security-endangering, or knowingly false content.
• Publishing content that infringes another party's intellectual-property, likeness, reputation, privacy, or other lawful rights.
• Conducting fake-engagement schemes, bot traffic, mass account creation, or other behavior that violates Xiaohongshu's community rules.
• Attacking, scraping, or otherwise undermining RedMate, Xiaohongshu, or third-party systems.
• Violating any other applicable law, including data, privacy, and cybersecurity legislation in your jurisdiction.

6. Automation boundaries

RedMate's automation features — one-click publishing, scheduled publishing, bulk operations, MCP tool invocations — are triggered by your explicit instruction. You are the final decision-maker and the responsible party.

• All content, operation records, and consequences produced by automation are borne by you.
• We make no warranty as to automation success rate, stability, or timing.
• You must not use automation to violate Xiaohongshu's or any other platform's rules.
• For irreversible operations — publishing, deletion, reporting — confirm parameters and target account before execution.

7. MCP and AI agents

RedMate ships an MCP server bound to 127.0.0.1 (loopback) and not exposed externally by default. When you grant an AI assistant — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, etc. — access to MCP:

• The assistant can call RedMate tools, including side-effecting operations such as publishing, deleting, or unbinding accounts.
• Grant access only to AI assistants and contexts you trust.
• All content and decisions produced by the AI assistant are treated as your instructions; you bear final responsibility.
• We strongly recommend keeping a human-review step on accounts used for business or important purposes.

8. Intellectual property

The RedMate software, UI design, icons, marks, documentation, and other intellectual-property rights belong to us. Except as expressly authorized in these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or commercially exploit them without written consent.

You retain ownership of the content (notes, assets) you create or upload through RedMate. You grant us a non-exclusive license to process, transmit, and store such content as necessary to provide the service.

9. Paid features

RedMate has free and paid features. The scope, price, and billing cycle of paid features are as published in-app or on redmate.app at the relevant time. Subscription and refund rules follow the distribution channel you used:

App Store builds follow Apple's subscription and refund rules; non-App-Store channels (direct merchant, web) follow the rules published for that channel.

10. Service changes, suspension, and termination

We may suspend, change, or terminate any part of the service for maintenance, upgrade, force majeure, third-party platform changes, or compliance reasons. Outside emergencies we will notify you in advance.

If you breach these Terms we may terminate your service immediately without refund. Losses incurred are borne by the breaching party.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• RedMate is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no express or implied warranty of fitness, availability, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.
• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages arising from your use or inability to use RedMate, including account suspension, traffic loss, lost commercial opportunity, or data loss.
• We are not liable for damages caused by Xiaohongshu's or any other third-party platform's policy changes or service interruption.
• Where liability does arise from these Terms or RedMate, our cumulative liability is capped at the fees you actually paid us in the preceding 12 months.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan).

Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation; if negotiation fails, the dispute shall be litigated in a court of competent jurisdiction at the developer's habitual residence.

13. Miscellaneous

If any clause of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining clauses remain in effect.

Failure to exercise any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
